To summerise; consistency at the gym pays off ,but only with correct nutrition, calorie and protein tracking.

Nutrition plays a big part in your fat loss, muscle gain and energy levels, because this directly influences your insulin levels, and it’s very important to eat a nutritionally balanced diet, high protein for muscle gain, satiates carb cravings and sugar addiction.
Cortisol plays a part in fat loss because the less stressed you are mentally and physically, you will be out of the ‘survival mode’ your body naturally goes into when stressed, and you will be able to manage and control your weight.
Not only will creating good nutrition in your life make you feel more energised and less anxious, but it creates or enhances daily routine with meal times, pre/post workout snacks and meals. And, learning new healthy recipes for those meal prep evenings or days, can be enjoyable and a new learning experience, helping you to develop cooking skills for life.

The gym is a shared working or socialising environment, depending on your POV. I prefer to simply go there to work and socialise categorically at actual social events and environments, like a restaurant, bar, music event, club. Personally I view it as a work out space to concentrate.
